All crowns are not created equally. Dental treatment success is part skill, part art; part dentist, part lab; part maintenance, part homecare.

Too often we see failed dental work. Black lines along the gums from old style porcelain crowns done with cheap metal that oxidizes, made more obvious by gum recession, tooth abrasion, and tooth erosion. Some porcelain crowns no longer match in color or size; often a sign of dentistry done in segments rather than one organized procedure.

Another common problem is teeth that are too white, over contoured, poor bonding resulting in leakage around margins, one color (monochromatic= not natural), no incisal translucency, poor gingival fit, and black triangles in between teeth.

Treating these situations requires extensive procedures in many cases, but the results are outstanding. 

The good news is that with the proper skill and talent (you're in the right place)and the help of a skilled lab technician, these problems can be completely avoided. We start with a complete examination, radiographs, detailed treatment plan, a diagnostic wax-up (so you can visualize the final result) and possible multiple try-in's of different shaded temporaries to assure an accurate selection of shading that provides the best cosmetic result ( to complement facial and smile characterstics rather than stark contrast) and regrowth of papillae. In some instances we may even to custom shading at the lab with the actual technician that will fire and glaze your final restorations.
